The Murdock Canal Trail, 20.8 miles of paved multi-use path opened in 2013, passes through Cedar Hills and connects to six neighboring cities; an adjacent equestrian dirt path runs the full length. The Bonneville Shoreline Trail above the city traces the ancient shoreline of Ice Age Lake Bonneville at approximately 5,200 feet, offering hiking and mountain biking on the bench. Battle Creek Falls in Pleasant Grove is a short drive south, and Thanksgiving Point in Lehi is 15 to 20 minutes west. American Fork and Pleasant Grove provide daily commercial services within 5 to 10 minutes.

Cedar Hills is served by SR-146 and local connectors linking to I-15 via American Fork or Pleasant Grove, typically 5 to 10 minutes west. Silicon Slopes employers in Lehi are 15 to 20 minutes away. Downtown Salt Lake City and the airport are each about 35 to 40 minutes north. Provo and BYU are roughly 25 to 30 minutes south. American Fork Canyon's SR-92 entrance is about 5 minutes east, making Cedar Hills the most canyon-proximate city in the Utah County bench cluster. Alta and Snowbird in Little Cottonwood Canyon are approximately 35 to 45 minutes from Cedar Hills via the canyon.
Golf & Bench Living at the Mouth of American Fork Canyon
Cedar Hills Golf Club is what most Utah County golfers picture when they think of the city. The Graves and Pascuzzo design takes full advantage of the canyon-edge terrain: the opening tee shot drops roughly 200 feet from an elevated tee to the fairway below, creating one of the more dramatic starting holes in the state. Beyond the course, the canyon itself is Cedar Hills' second defining amenity. Timpanogos Cave National Monument, with its guided cave tours, is about 20 minutes up SR-92. Tibble Fork Reservoir, Silver Lake Flat, sport climbing at Battle Creek, and the Aspen Grove and Timpooneke trailheads for Mount Timpanogos are all within a short drive.
